HostMySite has finally released another VPS plan with lots of disk space and ram with excellent features:

Although for the price, a dedicated server might be the way to go.

the 100GB of disk space. Is this on a single drive or is it divided up on three drives like th 1 GIG VPS. Or is it on a single logical drive, but on several physical drives via RAID? Yeah considering you can colocate for around $150 / month. Those prices are a bit high. Cheaper to find a server off Ebay then ship it off to HMS for colo. Of course if you run your own box. You don't get access to the platoon of Dedicated Server support staff.

We've had our server in colo for a little over 2 months now, and the dedicated support is fantastic. Our server mysteriously had problems when they put it on the rack, and they called me, and worked them out for me without question. That kind of service is why we now colo with HostMySite.

Yeah co-lo is hard to beat if you know how to administer a server.

That dive space is allocated as one drive on the VPS Pro. The hardware node is configured in a RAID 10 setup.

jason. can i ask what sort of bandwidth you got for your colo server and any specifics your server hardware had to be for hms to host or probs you came up against.
my vps isnt working out for me (memory/hdisk space etc). colo might be a option.

malik,

I found that colo is definitely the way to go price wise. As long as you are willing to take on the responsibility for the hardware failures in the middle of the night.

Our VPS wasn't working out either which is why we switched. We have much more stability and speed now on our own box than we used to.

I believe our bandwidth is 2TB a month. Although, from what I was told they don't stick you on overages as long as the overages arn't consistent.

The only specifics on hardware was the size of the server chassis. We have a tower instead of a standard sized 1U rack mount. Setup cost for the tower was double at $199, but hardware wise, it was cheaper to build.

HMS data centers are definitely kept cool. The server runs a cool 72 degrees fahrenheit. As opposed to 108 degrees in our shop

I worked with Jamie to get my server up and running. He was very helpful, and always promptly responded to all questions and concerns.

IF you have any other questions, or need more details, just let me know.
